Darkhorse Fishing ("we," "us," or "our") operates darkhorsefishing.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data. By using this site or creating an account, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — your email address and encrypted password when you create an account.
• Profile information — optional fields you choose to fill in: display name, home lake, and fishing style.
• Strike Plans — if you are a Pro subscriber, strike plans you save to the cloud (location, species, conditions, and AI-generated plan data).
• Billing information — payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Stripe.
• Location data — when you use the Strike Plan, you may enter a location or allow browser geolocation. This is used only to fetch weather and solunar data for your plan. We do not track or store your location persistently.
• Usage data — standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is retained for up to 90 days.

• To process Pro subscription payments via Stripe
• To generate personalized Strike Plans using your selected species, location, and conditions
• To save and retrieve your cloud-stored Strike Plans (Pro only)
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) — no marketing emails without your explicit opt-in
• To improve the site and fix bugs using aggregated, anonymized usage data

We use the following third-party services to operate the site:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage. Your account data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe handles all card data under PCI DSS compliance. Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini — the AI model that generates your Strike Plan recommendations. Your species selection, location name, and fishing conditions are sent to Gemini to generate the plan. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests. Google Privacy Policy.
• Weather & solunar APIs — your location coordinates are sent to third-party weather and solunar services to fetch current conditions. These requests include no personal information beyond the coordinates you provide.

We use cookies only for authentication sessions. No advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts are loaded on this site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in.

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Saved Strike Plans are retained until you delete them or close your account. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days. Server logs are automatically purged after 90 days.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information via your profile settings
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the Billing page or Stripe customer portal

Darkhorse Fishing is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
