About the Wax Worm

Small, soft-bodied bee moth larvae that are the go-to bait for panfish and ice fishing. Tip a small jig or ice fly with a wax worm and the scent and taste keep fish holding on longer for a solid hookset. Crappie, bluegill, and perch eat them year-round, but wax worms really shine through the ice when fish are lethargic and need the extra enticement of live bait.
